ALTRINCHAM’S Club Theatre launches its new season with Heroes by Gerald Sibleyras, adapted by Tom Stoppard, from October 12-18. It’s 1959 and Philippe, Gustave and Henri, three veterans of the First World War, dream of making their escape from the old soldiers home.
This will be followed by two classics, in the shape of E Nesbit’s The Railway Children from November 30 to December 6 and JB Priestley’s timeless thriller/social comment play An Inspector Calls from January 25-31.
The society presents another thriller, A Sting In The Tale from March 15-21 and Club Drama, the Club’s youth group, takes us to Victorian London for Dark River from April 2-4.
The Club Theatre’s main house season concludes with Noel Coward’s supernatural comedy Blithe Spirit from May 24-30.
Amateur theatre groups from Trafford, other parts of Greater Manchester and beyond will attend the Hale One Act Festival from June 15-20.
